The two suspects with a severed head were arrested yesterday in Polokwane
The two suspects were arrested in Market Street after a police officer found a head of a woman wrapped in newspapers in the vehicle the suspects were travelling in.
The suspects who are originally from Mapila in Mahwelereng are going to appear in the Magistrate Court tomorrow (Tuesday ) on a charge of murder.
The police got a tip-off regarding to people who were selling human body parts, and this led them to the two suspects.
The identity of the woman is not yet known, nor is the information to where and how she was killed or decapitated.
Col Ronél Otto, Limpopo police spokesperson, said a headless burnt body of a young woman was found under a bridge in Mapila, Mahwelereng today in the morning.
The woman has not been identified yet and investigations to link the discovery of the body with the case of the head wrapped in newspapers are ongoing.
Otto said that the police were unaware of any market for human body parts in the city and they don’t usually encounter cases like these in Polokwane.
There hasn’t been any missing person report at Mahwelereng police station which can be linked to the body.
Anyone who might have information to help solve the case is urged to come forward and report such information which will be treated confidential.
