Actress Thandeka is out of her comfort zone, with a bright future ahead of her
Former Uzalo acctress and singer is set to fly and take the acting wold by storm. The gorgeous Thandeka Zulu is a talented singer and actress, although her role on SABC1’s talenovela UZALO was booted, the Afro Soul group member is set to take up the acting world once more.
The Afro-pop singer is best known for her role as Nobmuso on the drama series, but now the rising actress is ought to pave her path in the acting world. The 25 year old actress has been busier than ever, she has shot a movie called Emthonjeni Wothando that Mzansi Magic screened on Sunday. She also finished shooting a documentary drama series for SABC1 called Ngempela. In the series, Thandeka plays the role of Nomvula. The character is that of a married woman who sleeps with her husband’s best friend.
The rising star has added that SABC1’s drama series taught her how to build her career. “After my exit from the show, I did not just fold my arms and feel sorry for myself. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and spread my wings”. The actress said she knew she had a bright future in the acting world after she acted in the Pastor Mjosty movie Kwaito Church Service 2. But Uzalo was her big break. “I couldn’t believe I was going to act alongside veteran actors and actresses like Bheki Mkhwane, Leleti Khumalo and Don Mlangeni. It was an honour for me. They gave me courage to have no limits when it comes to achieving dreams,” she said.
Most of the roles she has landed involve her character cheating on her partner, be it a boyfriend or a husband, but she said in real life she is nothing like her characters as she is very loyal and happy with her boyfriend.
Thandeka also dreams of owning her own production company one day and becoming one of the world’s most respected actresses.
