A 27-year-old man who allegedly attacked a 55-year-old man in Bolahlakgomo village outside Lebowakgomo and dismembered his private parts is expected to appear in the Thabamoopo magistrates court on Monday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says the victim was found by a passerby on Sunday naked, bleeding and in an agonizing pain.
Ngoepe says preliminary investigations led the police to the suspect’s house at Bolahlakgomo where the alleged severed private parts were found placed in a washing basket.
A manhunt was immediately launched and the suspect was arrested at a wedding ceremony at Bolahlakgomo hours later.
The victim also suffered multiple stab wounds and has been admitted in hospital in a critical condition.
Forensic investigations will still be conducted to determine if the private parts belong to the victim.
The suspect who is also an ex-convict for murder and malicious damage to property, will face an attempted murder charge when he appears in court on Monday.
