Cassper Nyovest had to listen to TI’s performance from outside when the guards denied him access.
Award winning Cassper Nyovest was downgraded to being a listener during TI’s recent performance in Durban. The Mama I made it hit maker was one the of the opening acts for TI, but was prohibited from watching the live performance. Sources state that Cassper went to the Igagasi FM’s Kombi, which was parked a few meters way from the stage.
Cassper, real name Reliloe Phoolo, was refused entry by the security guards when he came back. When TI, arrived, Cassper and his crew rushed back to the stage, trying to get into VIP area, with hopes of watching the live performance. But the obstinate security guards blocked them at the VIP gate and refused to let them in.
Apparently Cassper tried to negotiate for approximately 10 minutes, but failed.
Nyovest had to listen to the performance from the Igagasi FM marquee. He couldn’t even get a glimpse of the gig as the fence was too high for him.
Cassper said: “I love TI’s music and I was disappointed when the security guards blocked me. I wanted to watch his live performance. That’s why I wanted to get into the VIP area.”
The security guards were told no to let anyone inside and they did just that. One of the organizing agents, Dionne Domyan-Mudie from Airey Scott Entertainment, said once an international artist starts performing, no one is allowed to go inside or take pictures.
