The Limpopo police have arrested 948 suspects aged between 19 and 57
across the province during intelligence-driven joint operations.
The suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from murder,
attempted murder, rape, armed robbery, possession of dagga, trading
without a license and public drinking.
Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says this
effort will stabilize and normalize the crime situation in areas that
are mostly affected such as Mankweng and Senwabarwana.
During the operations, a number of items were seized including 18
firearms, 13 motor vehicles, one truck, one trailer, 15 laptops and 20
cellphones, 105 dagga plants and 105 sachets of dagga.
Ngoepe says the provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General
Nneke Ledwaba has commended police for ensuring that Limpopo residents
are at all times kept safe.
Ledwaba has vowed that these operations will continue until crime is normalized throughout the province.
