The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Limpopo says it is not happy with the 2018 matric results as the pass rate has not reached the 85% mark.
The EFF says this indicates that there is a backlog in improving the teaching, skills and providing learner-teacher support material.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motsekga announced the results on Thursday night showing Limpopo is the province with the lowest matric pass rate in the country at 69.4%.
EFF Provincial Chairperson Jossey Buthane says the reason for these poor results is that teaching is no longer treated as a calling but rather as a job and a way of generating money at the end of the month, which decreases the quality of education given to learners.
He says frustrated learners are going to blame themselves for not making it but he is pleading with them to not blame themselves or give up because the EFF will prioritise education in order to achieve proper results.
