Renaldo Gouws ‘apologises’ after telling tweeps to ‘drink a Panado for chest pains’

Hours before issuing a formal apology over his racist remarks, DA MP Renaldo Gouws told offended tweeps to ‘take a Panado for chest pains’ in a now deleted tweet.

Over the weekend, old clips of Renaldo Gouws using homophobic slurs and racially charged statements had South Africans up in arms.  In the midst of it, a petition to remove Gouws as an MP over his remarks is fast gaining momentum.

On his official X account, the newly-sworn in MP seemingly apologised for his actions.
