Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC Makoma Makhurupetje has commended the traffic officers saying overloading is a serious violation of traffic laws and one of the causes of serious accidents on the roads.
In September this year, traffic officers intercepted a truck carrying 87 illegal Malawians who were travelling to Durban through Polokwane.
The driver of the mini-bus has been arrested and is expected to appear in court soon.
Makhurupetje says the department of Home Affairs will attend to the issue of illegal immigrants accordingly
