The Road Accident Fund (RAF) in Limpopo is relieved that 11 Zambian nationals were repatriated on Sunday,
and it will now be able to finalize the paperwork for the repatriation of Zimbabweans who died in another bus accident.
The 11 Zambian nationals who died in a bus accident on the N1 near Mookgophong will be buried on Tuesday and Zambia will mark national day of mourning.
RAF’s regional manager Christina says the tragedies are straining their budget and they still have to pay the dependents of the deceased.
Humphrey Kunda, one of the family members of the N1 Mookgophong bus accident victims says he is grateful for the support shown by both the Zambian and South African governments.
The Zambian Air Force transported the remains of the 11 Zambian nationals from the Polokwane International Airport to Zambia on Sunday.
Kunda says they would not have been able to do it on their own as a family, so they appreciate the efforts of the two governments.
