Academic activities have been disrupted at the University of Limpopo in Mankweng due to a student protest on Monday.
Students Represetive Council at the University say some students
staying outside campus are being evicted by the landlords because they
are unable to pay rent.
Students are demanding that the National Student Financial Aid Scheme
(NSFAS) pay the outstanding allowances including what they call
off-campus allowances.
There are growing concerns over NSFAS processes and calls for the NSFAS board to be dissolved are gaining support.
The spokesperson of the EFF student command at the University of Limpopo Sankara Dombo has accused NSFAS of being dysfunctional.
He says students can only resume with lectures when the issues at hand have been resolved.
