100 menmarch denounces women and children abuse

Police Minister Bheki Cele has called on police officers never to turn abused women away from any police station.
“When these women come battered, bruised [and] bloodied at the police station, don’t turn them back home to negotiate because next time she won’t come home. By the time she doesn’t come back to the police station, she’ll be dead. Let’s make sure we don’t send them back because sending her back is sending her to her death.”
Cele was addressing the #100menmarch in Pretoria on Tuesday.
The march seeks to encourage men to take a stand against the scourge of violence against women and children.
Minister of Women in the Presidency Bathabile Dlamini has urged the men to say “no to violence against women.”
Men from various sectors of society, including government, business, labour, faith-based organisations, non-profit and media organisations, marched against the abuse of women and children.
They took turns on stage at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, to denounce the rampant abuse of women and children.
